Ronda Rousey honoured her vow by accompanying a US soldier to his marine corps ball after he asked her in a public video.

Jarrod Haschert, 22, posted a video in August declaring the UFC fighter his “celebrity crush” and asking her to accompany him to his ball - an invitation which has now been viewed over five million times.

Rousey later told TMZ she had seen the viral video and would accept his date.

Hey guys, I'm trying to take Ronda Rousey to the Marine Corps Ball this year and I need your help to reach out to her and her fans. Please share this post and video. Thank you!!

And four months later, it appears she stuck to her promise.

Rousey posted an image of her with Lance Corporal Haschert, who was wearing full uniform, on Instagram thanking him for being a gentleman and “putting a smile on my face again”.

The 28-year-old was referring to her shock defeat by Holly Holm, which she she said last week she is still “really f*****g sad” about.

On the day of the ball, Rousey was videoed making her way to South Carolina by TMZ. She told reporters: “I promised I would [go to the ball] and it was nice to be asked.

“Honestly I probably would stay on my couch crying and eating ice cream for another month if he didn’t ask me so it was probably a good thing.”

Unfortunately for Lance Corporal Haschert it was Rousey’s boyfriend MMA fighter Travis Browne who was filmed dropping her off ahead of her date.
