Dustin Diamond is set to stand trial after he allegedly stabbed a man with a switchblade, a judge ruled on Monday.

The Saved By The Bell actor, 37, who played Screech in the 90s high school comedy, faces a charge of reckless endangerment.

He also stands accused of two further counts of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with the fight that broke out at the Grand Avenue Saloon bar near Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Christmas Day.

On arrest, Diamond told police that he accidentally wounded the man while trying to defend his fiancée.

The man was not left seriously injured.

Diamond is currently free on a $10,000 bail. If convicted, he could be set to spend up to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision.

Diamond appeared in the last episode of Saved By The Bell over 20 years ago.

He has also featured in several reality television shows in the US, including Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Fit Club and Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling.
