Choosing who to drive with is not an easy decision: when preparing for a long journey, a lot of people do not make for the best car passengers.

Yet when you're James Corden, the host of CBS' The Late Late Show and a friend of every big name under the sun, selecting your passengers is pretty simple - and when he's playing Carpool Karaoke, it gets even better.

Corden invited British music legend Rod Stewart into his vehicle as he cruised along the streets of Los Angeles on his way to work, interviewing the 70-year-old singer about his life and career. Corden could not resist turning on the radio and playing tune after tune of Stewart classics: "The First Cut Is the Deepest", "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "Maggie May."

The most surreal moment of the car ride was when Corden played ASAP Rocky's single "Everyday", which features Rod Stewart. As Corden and Stewart sing along, guess who appears at the back of the car to join in?
