'People always bear prejudice and a sense of discrimination somewhere inside' says Cho, who, although born in Japan and raised speaking Japanese, holds Chinese nationality. 'Often, we don't even notice it. I have experienced it many times while living in Japan. People differentiate their own ethnic group from others in order to strengthen their solidarity.'
