RESCUERS WERE scrambling to get food and life vests to inundated areas in central Vietnam after flooding left 55 people dead, government officials said yesterday.
Four days of heavy rain had dropped 172cms of water on some parts of the region, which is still struggling to recover from massive flooding in November. More rain is predicted, and casualties are expected to rise.
