School challenge

Pupils and parents at Hackney Downs School in east London, the first to be recommended for closure by a Government-appointed "hit squad", failed in a High Court attempt to win a last-minute reprieve. But they were given leave to appeal and the case is expected to be heard by Friday - the last day of term.
