Brilliant Bolt retains 200m title in Jamaican 1-2-3

Usain Bolt achieved the sprint double for the second successive Games, easing to the 200m title last night in a time of 19.32 seconds to go with the 100m title he won on Sunday. The 25-year-old, who also won the two races in Beijing four years ago, led a Jamaican 1-2-3 at the Olympic Stadium, leading compatriots Yohan Blake and Warren Weir home for the fifth Olympic gold medal of his career. Blake, above, was also beaten by Bolt in Sunday's race.

"I thought the world record was possible," Bolt said. "I guess I was fast but not fit enough. I could feel my back strain a little, so all I did was keep my form. I'm dedicated to my work and London meant so much to me." MORE
