Wolves earn vital win over Wigan

Wolves have moved up to 13th in the Premier League with a vital 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Wigan, who are now bottom of the table, with manager Roberto Martinez conceding that his players "couldn't cope with the mental blow of going behind". MORE

Saracens maintained their pressure on Harlequins at the top of the Premiership with a 23-10 home win over Sale, with tries from David Strettle and Matthew Stevens. Owen Farrell kicked three penalties. Saracens are four points behind first place. MORE

Eagles and Klasnic demolish Stoke

Chris Eagles and Ivan Klasnic both scored twice as Bolton surprised Stoke City with a 5-0 win at the Reebok Stadium. The victory provided Bolton with their first home points of the season. In last year's FA Cup semi-final, Stoke beat Bolton 5-0. MORE

Rory McIlroy moved into the world top two for the first time yesterday, having finished fourth in the WGC Champions in Shanghai. Martin Kaymer won his first title in 10 months, after a final round of 63 including a stunning back nine of 29. MORE

Spurs survive late scare at Cottage

Tottenham survived a late scare at Fulham to move into fifth after a tense 3-1 victory. Fulham had over three times as many attempts on goal as Spurs, who had Brad Friedel to thank for a string of heroic saves, before Jermain Defoe sealed the win. MORE

Tiger Woods and Steve Williams will not meet at the Australian Open. Williams, Woods' ex-caddie, who made racist comments about him last week, now caddies for Adam Scott but the tournament director said there was "no chance" of them pairing. MORE

Sturridge and Rodwell make first England squads

Fabio Capello has given senior call-ups to youngsters Daniel Sturridge and Jack Rodwell for England's two upcoming friendlies against Spain and Sweden.
