The Walking Dead is returning in a matter of weeks and fans' anticipation to find out which life Negan claimed is officially in overdrive.

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has now fuelled this even further by confirming what executive producer Greg Nicotero let slip last month - the new antagonist is going to kill more than one person in the opening episode.

In an interview with Den of Geek, the actor revealed: "Negan's not just going to kill one person in [the premiere]. He's not afraid of bashing in skulls."

If you weren't already terrified...

Of course, this doesn't mean that his other victim has to be one of the unlucky 11 currently kneeling at his mercy (here's who we think will get the chop), but if it is, this would definitely mean the opening episode is the game-changer we've been teased for what's felt like an eternity.

Now is probably a good time to remember how Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) previously described the premiere as "full of laughs." One watch of the below clip - which seems to heavily hint at who the season's first casualty could be - and we're not sure we're in agreement with him.
