Cash plea fails
Ellen and William Reilly, 61 and 68, lost pounds 3,500 compensation they were awarded for being stuck in a hospital lift for one hour and 20 minutes. The Court of Appeal ruled neither had suffered any 'recognisable psychiatric injury' for which they were entitled to compensation from the Merseyside Regional Health Authority.
