CCTV of moment robber's gun jams

CCTV has been released that shows the moment a robber's gun jammed as he attempted to steal from a newsagent.

The incident, which occurred on Coventry Road in Small Heath, was filmed by the shop's CCTV cameras.

It shows the suspect point a semi-automatic pistol at the newsagent employee and demanding money from the till.

When the employee challenges the suspect, the trigger is pulled but no shots are fired. Police report that he then ran off down Regent Park Road.

The suspect has been described as Asian, 5ft 9ins tall and with black hair. Police report that he was wearing a hooded navy Nike jacket, white and blue Nike Air Max trainers, a cross body bag with a red Nike logo and had a grey scarf covering his face.
