Couple are cleared of killing baby
A couple have been cleared of killing their four-month-old son who was suffering from rickets.
Rohan Wray, 22, and Chana Al-Alas, 19, denied murdering Jayden or allowing his death. He died from a head injury in July 2009.
An Old Bailey jury yesterday returned not guilty verdicts after prosecutors withdrew the charges.
The court heard Jayden died from brain damage and swelling but nearly 60 medical, professional and expert witnesses were unable to agree the cause. The couple, of Islington, north London, who were 16 and 19 when Jayden was born, hugged when they heard the verdict.
