FBI agents investigating a teenager accused of a hacking attack against the Serious Organised Crime Agency have flown to Britain, in a sign that a move to extradite him could be underway.

Ryan Cleary, 19, from Wickford, Essex, was remanded in custody yesterday. He did not enter any plea to five offences under the Criminal Law and Computer Misuse Act at City of Westminster magistrates' court.

He was arrested at his home on Monday as part of an investigation into LulzSec, a group which admits responsibility for hacking attempts on Soca, the US Senate and the CIA.

In a separate incident, hackers attacked servers owned by News International yesterday. LulzSec denied involvement.
