A man has been arrested for sexual assault after CCTV footage showed a woman being attacked on the doorstep of a house in Clapham, south London.

The woman was at the door shortly after 8pm on 26 October.

The alleged attacker was then seen walking past before coming towards the woman and appearing to touch her, according to the footage obtained by MailOnline.

“I just walked home, got the keys in the door, and all of [a] sudden, he was there. I wasn’t aware he was there – until he put his hands on me,” the woman, who wants to remain anonymous, said.

“I was so afraid. That’s all I could think of. That’s all that was going through my head,” she said.

Police said they had arrested a man in connection with three sexual assaults that took place in the area on the same night.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives in Lambeth investigating what is believed to be a linked series of sexual assaults in the Brixton Hill/ Clapham area on 26 October have arrested a man in connection with all three assaults.”

“He has been taken into custody at a south London police station. Enquiries continue.”
