Police chief on trial over 'speeding fine dodge'
A senior police officer will stand trial today for allegedly abusing his position to avoid a speeding fine.
Superintendent Jonathan Johncox, 46, has been suspended from his post with Surrey Police following the allegations.
Johncox is to go on trial at Winchester Crown Court for a charge of wilful misconduct in office between June 13 and July 18, 2008.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission said the case followed an inquiry into the granting of exemptions for traffic offences.
