Premier League footballer charged with drink-driving
Premier League footballer Nile Ranger has been charged with drink-driving, a police spokeswoman said today.
The 20-year-old Newcastle United striker was arrested in an early morning incident in Newcastle city centre last month.
He was granted bail until today pending the outcome of a blood test and was charged by Northumbria Police to appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on November 10.
Another man was charged with drink-driving and driving without insurance after the footballer's distinctive black and white Range Rover was allegedly driven off while Ranger was talking to police. The car was stopped nearby.
