Two children watch mother stabbed to death 'in murder suicide'

Two children reportedly watched their mother get stabbed to death in a "murder suicide" at a home in Hertfordshire.

The mother and a man, who is believed to be her partner, were found at a property in Cheshunt with severe wounds and died at the scene.

Four vehicles were sent to the house, including two ambulances and the Herts Air Ambulance, following reports of a disturbance.

The woman had already died by the time emergency services arrived and the man passed away of his injuries soon after.

Two children apparently witnessed their mother being stabbed by the man, who is believed to be their father, according to The Sun.

Hertfordshire police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the double-death.

A Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said: "When police arrived at the address they found a woman had been stabbed and had tragically passed away.

"A man was also found to be at the property with knife wounds. He also tragically passed away shortly after at the scene."

"Crews assessed two patients, but sadly both died at scene."
