Hundreds of biscuit factory workers could be facing a strike ballot over changes in working arrangements that include having to ask permission to go to the toilet.
The GMB union said its executive will decide next week whether to ballot its members at the United Biscuits factory in Aintree, Merseyside.
The union said a number of changes to existing agreements had been proposed, including new rules covering toilet breaks.
Sue Morgan, a GMB official, said the company had been told of the depth of feeling among workers that changes were being made without consultation.
