British Library evacuated: Reports of large emergency service presence at British Library
Those inside were allowed to get their belongings before being asked to leave
The British Library in London has reportedly been evacuated.
Those near the library reported a large emergency services presence in the area just after 5PM on Friday.
One person inside the library when it was evacuated said a security guard mentioned a 'bomb scare', but this has not yet been confirmed either by the library or the Metropolitan Police.
Those inside were reportedly allowed to get their belongings before leaving, and some later reported a "serene" and "calm" atmosphere outside the building.
A spokesman said the library was closing early, and said it would not open again today.
