Police released CCTV images of the missing schoolgirl Amanda Dowler yesterday, the last pictures taken of her before she disappeared.

The pictures were taken as Amanda, 13, also known as Milly, left Heathside School in Weybridge, Surrey at 3.07pm on Thursday 21 March. They show her walking down a flight of stairs after her last lesson, science. She is then seen leaving the school.

In the footage, the teenager is wearing the school uniform of dark blue blazer, white shirt, tie, grey skirt and blue jumper. The beige rucksack she was carrying at the time is also clearly visible.

Sixteen minutes later, another set of CCTV cameras took her picture, this time at Weybridge railway station, where she had walked after school with a group of female friends. The footage, taken at 3.23pm, shows Milly still in her school uniform, but this time without her blue jumper.

From Weybridge, Milly caught a train back to Walton-on-Thames station, near to her parents' house. After eating chips with her friends, she set off alone on the short walk home to Walton Park.

Earlier this week, two motorists reported seeing a girl who looked like the missing teenager crying along this route shortly after 4pm.

A spokesman for Surrey Police, who now have more than 100 officers working on the case at any one time, said: "The footage has been released in a bid to jog the memories of anyone who may have seen Milly on the day she disappeared."
