Cotswold village Little Rollright on sale for £18m

Manor house, rectory and cottages included in 509-acre estate

An entire village in the Cotswolds is up for sale for the bargain price of £18 million.

Described as “wonderfully picturesque” by agents Savills, Little Rollright is close to the ancient Rollright Stones.

The asking price may seem steep but it covers a Grade II listed manor house, complete with 10 bedrooms, a private cinema, gym, pool, wine cellar and lift.

There is also a rectory, five cottages and several barns. Only the village’s 17th Century church is not included.

The purchase would also make the owner a near neighbour of David Cameron, Alex James, Jeremy Clarkson and other famous Cotswolds residents.

Giles Lawton, an agent with Savills, told the BBC: "The pluses of Little Rollright speak for themselves – it’s a wonderful place in a great area.

"The attention to detail on the renovations carried out over the years is second to none. We've had good enquiries."

Few could afford the price tag but it is a snip compared to some of the world’s most expensive flats at One Hyde Park in London.

The manor started as a farmhouse and has its own gardens, fountains and rolling parkland at the centre of the 509-acre estate including farmland and woods.

Little Rollright was once owned by Oxford University’s Lincoln College but its private owner has decided to put it on the market.
