Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy who was found stabbed to death after a row at a house party in Coventry.

Paramedics, police and hospital staff tried to save Ramani Morgan, from Erdington, after he was found injured in the Stoke area of Coventry around 10.30pm on Saturday, but he was pronounced dead shortly after he was taken to hospital.

The two youths charged with his murder are both 17-year-old males. They appeared before Leamington magistrates on Wednesday morning.

West Midlands Police said they are investigating “links to trouble at a house party in Chandos Street shortly before”.

Morgan’s family released a statement through West Midlands Police. They said: “On 29 February, our child was taken away from us. This has totally broken our family. Ramani was so kind, caring and humble, and had a beautiful soul.

“He had the potential of becoming a professional footballer. Ramani had many hopes and dreams and he had his whole life ahead of him.

“Ramani was the best son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin anyone could ever wish for. [He] was loved by everyone that knew him.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support so far, including the police, members of public at the scene, witnesses and also our family and friends.

“Moving forward we would like to appeal for anyone with any information to come forward to ensure we get the justice that Ramani deserves.

“As a family we would like to ask the public to respect our privacy at this sad time.”

Police added: “We have spoken to a number of people who were at the house party, but still need to hear from anyone with information.”

Witnesses are asked to get in touch via Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website or do so anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
