Detainees go on hunger strike
About 150 immigrants went on hunger strike today over conditions at a detention centre.
The Border and Immigration Agency (BIA) said there had been "passive" protests at the Oakington Immigration Reception Centre, near Cambridge.
A spokeswoman said the detainees had refused to eat lunch today because of grievances over "conditions and individual cases".
She added: "The situation remains calm and we are discussing with detainees their concerns."
