CCTV shows moment drunken man narrowly avoids a speeding train

CCTV footage shows the moment a man clambers on train tracks before lying down on them in a drunken state.

Derek Acton, 44, is "lucky to be alive" after a high speed train passed over him. Miraculously he made his way back to the platform shortly after.

The Harlow man has been handed a twelve month community order, a 60 day alcohol abstinence requirement and a £570 fine.

Network Rail say the operation cost an estimated £11,700 in delay compensation.
