A two-year-old girl left a nursery and walked home alone, police said today.
Louise Hilton is believed to have walked out of Windmill Hill Nursery in Runcorn, Cheshire, through a door left open by a workman, and arrived at her house about half a mile away at 1.50pm on Wednesday.
“Mummy, I’m home,” she said, according to BBC News.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said: “The child was unharmed and the matter has been referred to the local authority.”
Windmill Hill Nursery declined to comment on the incident.
