A man has died after being crushed by an industrial roller, police said.

The 56-year-old was killed in the accident near a farm in Bath Road, Colerne, Wiltshire.

Police were unable to say whether the man, who lived locally, was the driver of the vehicle.

A force spokeswoman said: "Wiltshire Police attended a report of a seriously injured man following what appears to be an accident involving an industrial roller.

"Sadly, the 56-year-old local man was deceased at the scene.

"His family have been informed but formal identification has not yet been completed.
