A prisoner has posted a TripAdvisor-style review of his “four star” cell at Grimsby Police Station, complete with photos of his room, bed, bathroom and breakfast.

Christian Willoughby did not elaborate on the “misdemeanour” that caused his overnight stay on Wednesday but said he would “definitely come back” in the Facebook post.

“I've given this place four stars,” he wrote. “It's the all-day breakfast that lets it down really.

“Apart from that the staff are pleasant enough. Had my own on-suite room and butler, who would come with tea and newspapers.”

Mr Willoughby described the “minimalistic” décor as a “nice touch” and said it could not be faulted for security.

“Quadruple glazing and security door,” he added. “Ideal place for winding down after a hard day. I'd definitely come back.”

He took a selfie in front of the security door and photographed the windows, metal toilet and sparse bed complete with a stencil offering advice for drugs problems above.

The detainee was less impressed by the hot breakfast, which he described as two sausages “floating around a runny sauce with a threw diced potatoes thrown in”.

His post quickly went viral and has been shared more than 4,300 times so far, with amused readers hailing him as the “funniest guy ever”.

When asked whether he managed to get a forbidden mobile phone into the cells, Mr Willoughby replied that he had used an iPad.

Humberside Police said the "breach of security" is being investigated.

"The force are aware of pictures apparently of the Grimsby Custody Suite on social media,” Chief Inspector James Glansfield said.

"These appear to have been taken by a prisoner while in custody on Wednesday 9 March.

"We take any such breach of security and detainee safety extremely seriously and will be carrying out a review of our detainee management to identify any lessons learned and prevent further reoccurrences in the future.

"The force's Professional Standards Branch is investigating the circumstances of the incident."
