Stamp of approval for classic designs
George Stephenson and his Rocket, Charles Darwin and British design classics, ranging from the red telephone box to Concorde, will be featured on stamps to be published next year. Ten stamps celebrating design will go on sale from 13 January. The Mini, the miniskirt and the London Underground map will also be featured.
A different set of stamps will be issued every month. In February a special collection will be dedicated to Charles Darwin on the bicentenary of his birth. The pioneers of the Industrial Revolution, including Stephenson, will be featured in March.
