Woman sexually assaulted in Northampton after getting into wrong car
She thought she was getting into a taxi

A woman in Northampton was seriously sexually assaulted after getting into the wrong car on Sunday.
The woman was assaulted between midnight and when the clocks went back after getting into a car she thought was a taxi, the Northampton Chronicle & Echo reports.
She got into a light coloured car with two white men as she left a pub on Sunday evening.
Detective Inspector Mark Hopkinson said: “This was a horrific attack on a woman who thought she was safe and on her way home after a night out.”
He urged people in the area at the time to come forward, saying: “any information, however insignificant it seems, may assist with our investigation.”
Detective Hopkinson added: “We are advising people to be mindful of their personal safety when out and about. Try to stick with your friends and, wherever possible, plan your return home after a night out in advance and always used a licensed taxi.”
Anyone with information can contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 if within the Northampton area. Or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
