Homes sales cash 'cannot fund care'
The widespread belief that pensioners can pay for residential care by selling their homes is misguided, new research shows.
Only three out of 10 pensioners would be in a position to pay for care by selling property to pay for fees which can add up to almost pounds 10,000 a year, a report commissioned by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, an independent research body, says.
