Judge dies
Lord Edmund-Davies, the judge who jailed the Great Train Robbers and presided over the Aberfan disaster inquiry, has died, aged 86. One of Britain's leading judicial figures, his career spanned more than 50 years from being called to the Bar in 1929 to retiring as a Law Lord in 1981.
