A 24-hour London-wide bus strike went ahead today as thousands of drivers refused to get behind the wheel.

Just 44 of 673 bus routes, operated by 18 separate companies, are believed to be operating this morning as millions of commuters struggle to work. You can see the full list of services that are operating as normal below.

Just 30 per cent of buses were running this morning, with Transport for London warning commuters that their journey was like be to “significantly disrupted”.

Unite union members are campaigning for a single agreement over disparities in pay, with the union claiming with no collective pay deal there were 80 different pay rates for drivers – despite them all doing the same job.

A recent poll of 1,600 Unite members indicated that two thirds backed the pay strike.

There are 27,000 workers who are members of Unite across the 18 companies affected.

Mike Weston, TfL’s Director of Buses, said in a statement to The Independent: “I am very sorry that the leadership of Unite have chosen to disrupt the journeys of bus passengers, especially given that only 16 per cent of the bus drivers voted for strike action.”

Services are expected to resume as normal on Wednesday.
