Alex Salmond is to visit California in an attempt to boost investment in Scotland.

The Scottish First Minister is to visit Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco later this month in a trip designed to highlight the distinctiveness of the Scottish economy.

The SNP leader said: "The US offers huge potential, and this visit will help us identify and enhance the opportunities for real, practical innovation and collaboration and bring investment and jobs to Scotland."
