Unions consider BBC peace plan

Further industrial action at the BBC was suspended after talks between unions and management at Acas. Managers proposed a two-month process to negotiate further the pay and conditions which the corporation wants to implement.

Leaders of the National Union of Journalists and the broadcasting union Bectu agreed to consult their members and suspended strike action set for this Friday. They will give their response next Tuesday.
