A Belgium book association claim they have set a new world record for the longest book domino chain composed of almost 5,000 second-hand books.

It took 40 volunteers and two hours to build the lines of books, but it took only six minutes to knock down the 600 metres long journey.

The book chain, made of a total of 4, 845 books, was designed to celebrate books and promote reading. As the books smoothly tumbled along the route following an elaborate path through the Antwerp book fair, they spelled the Dutch words for "book", "fair" and "read".

Once the route had been completed, the books set off fireworks.
