Chinese men arrested on animal cruelty charges
Four Chinese men face deportation from Zimbabwe after they were arrested on charges of cruelty to tortoises, according to local media.
The men's house in rural Zimbabwe was raided after villagers complained that the men were boiling the reptiles alive for food. Police rescued a further 13 live tortoises from the house, and uncovered the remains of another 40. The reptiles were all from an endangered species.
Zimbabwe has seen an influx of Chinese labourers in recent years.
