Three European feminist activists who were jailed after a topless courthouse protest in Tunisia last month have been set free after a court lifted their prison sentence. They left the country this morning to go to France.
The two French women and a German member of the Ukrainian group Femen maintained during the trial that there was nothing sexual or offensive about their protest and that it was only to support fellow Femen protester Amina Sboui, a Tunisian, who had been arrested after staging a topless protest.
All three women, above, apologised on Wednesday during their appeal hearing.
