An emergency services operator has been accused of intentionally putting the phone down on 911 callers because she “did not want to talk to anyone” while on a shift.

Crenshanda Williams from Houston, Texas, was recorded sighing and hanging up when a civilian called to report a robbery, and disconnected another call from a security officer who was in pursuit of vehicles driving dangerously.

Her supervisors noticed an abnormal quantity of short conversations lasting 20 seconds or less on the call logs since she started working at Houston Emergency Centre since July 2014.

On one occasion, Ms Williams was overheard putting down the phone while saying: “Ain’t nobody got time for this. For real.”

When asked by investigators why she had disconnected the calls, Ms Williams said she “did not want to talk to anyone at that time”, and offered no other explanation for her actions according to Fox 5.

At least one of the calls ignored by Ms Williams “involved a homicide”, and two were regarding speeding vehicles, according to officers

Police said they were still unsure of the full quantity of emergency correspondence dismissed by Ms Williams, and confirmed they were launching a full investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile Ms Williams had charges filed against her “for interference with an emergency telephone call”. She was forced to pay a bail bond of $1,000.
