An adult entertainer is facing a lengthy jail term after being found guilty of the manslaughter of a model killed by silicone buttock injections.

Natasha Stewart, of Memphis, Tennessee, was found guilty by a Mississippi court of arranging for a woman posing as a nurse to inject the deadly silicone into the buttocks of Karima Gordon, of Atlanta, Georgia.

The 37-year-old model died from a silicone embolism in her lungs in March 2012.

Prosecutors said that Gordon paid Stewart $200 (£122) to arrange the jabs with Tracey Luynn Garner, who Gordon believed was a qualified nurse.

The prosecution alleged that Stewart knew Garner was not registered and wanted her to be convicted of "depraved-heart murder" – which means callous disregard for human life – for which she would have received a life sentence.

However, Stewart, also known as Pebbelz Da Mode, denied the charge and jurors instead convicted her on the lesser charge of culpable negligence manslaughter.

She was also convicted of conspiracy to commit culpable negligent manslaughter and faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge.

In her defence, Stewart said that Gordon had repeatedly asked to be put in touch with an individual who could carry out the procedure – a claim which appeared to be backed up by email correspondence.

Tracey Lynn Garner is facing two charges of depraved-heart murder – one against Gordon and the other against Marilyn Hale of Selma, Alabama. Garner pleads not guilty and her trial begins in March.
