Bathers at Piscinao de Ramos, an artificial lake in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, are among those benefiting from the growing number of bikini manufactuers offering a wider range of sizes.

Changes in diet and lifestyle in the country have led to thickening waistlines and the need for a greater range of plus-size clothing.

It has also fueled a boom in cosmetic surgery.
