Nadir Soofi: Second suspect in Texas Prophet Mohamed shooting named
Police said gunmen were seeking to kill people at Texas event
Officials in the US have identified the second gunman allegedly involved in the attack on a exhibition that was showing images of the Prophet Mohamed, it has been reported.
The New York Times said law enforcement officials had identified the man as Nadir Soofi. It is alleged that he and Elton Simpson attacked the Curtis Culwell Centre, an indoor arena in Garland.
The centre was hosting a "free speech" event, hosted by the American Freedom Defence Initiative (AFDI), and titled the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest”.
The AFDI is headed by Pamela Geller, who has previously been linked to poster campaigns on public buses that have been denounced as anti-Muslim.
