New York: Kermit goes super-size

A high-kicking Kung Fu Panda and a waving Kermit the Frog joined the giant balloon lineup as New York's Thanksgiving Day Parade unfolded yesterday, drawing tens of thousands of spectators to the annual extravaganza on a chilly, overcast morning.

As millions more watched the live broadcast on television, revelers gathered for other parades in such cities as Detroit, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Entertainers to perform in New York included Kanye West and Gladys Knight.
