Hundreds of employees at The Boston Globe have volunteered to hand deliver copies of their Sunday newspaper after a week of tumult due to changing delivery company.

According to CNN Money, everyone from managing editors, political columnists, sports reporters and web producers worked until dawn to bring their paper to subscribers’ doors after the paper was printed around midnight.

The Boston Globe ran a story last week which said thousands of subscribers had not received their paper, and as a result union leaders at the paper appealed to staff to get together on Saturday night to help deliver the paper across 150 routes.

One tweet from crime reporter Evan Allen showed a picture of colleague Milton Valencia about to hit the paper route with his crime story on the front page.

The newspaper, recently featured in the hit film Spotlight, has had some free publicity with its reporters on the paper route but delivery problems might not be resolved for another four to six months, according to the paper.

The newspaper had switched from Publishers Circulation Fulfillment to ACI to improve service, reduce the number of delivery cancellations and to save costs.

ACI’s president and chief operating officer, Jack Klunder, told The Boston Globe that the service will be “as good as before the change” in four to six months and will continue to improve after that.
