Tomi Lahren mocked for being 'permanently banned' from The Blaze

Tomi Lahren announces she's pro-choice: "Stay out of my guns and you can stay out of my body too"

Tomi Lahren’s inflammatory firebrand rhetoric has made her one of the most divisive figures to come out of the Trump era. As such, reports the conservative commentator has been "banned permanently" from The Blaze have been widely celebrated by her critics.

The right-wing pundit, who is famed for her vitriolic viral tirades, has reportedly had her nightly talkshow Tomi dropped for saying she believes women should be able to have abortions. Lahren, who once labelled refugees “rapeugees”, was temporarily suspended from her programme earlier this month after saying it would be hypocritical for her to both support limited government intervention and assert the government is able to decide how women use their bodies.

But sources close to Glenn Beck, founder of right-wing network The Blaze, say Lahren has been permanently banned.

“Glenn is reminding the world of his conservative principles by sidelining Tomi after she insulted conservatives by calling them hypocrites,” an insider told the New York Post.

“He’s trying to balance being a leading conservative thinker and also someone who can unify the country. He just couldn’t sit by and watch as Tomi Lahren said there’s no way for conservatives to justify anything other than being pro-choice.”

Beck, a former Fox News host who many accuse of aiding President Donald Trump’s cause by “mainstreaming a conspiratorial way of thinking”, rebuked Lahren’s pro-choice views last week. Beck noted she once referred to abortion doctors as “baby killers”.

"I would disagree that you're a hypocrite if you want limited government and yet you want the government to protect life of the unborn. It's very, very clear," Beck said on his radio show. "But it takes intellectual honesty, and it takes a willingness to actually think these things through and to do more than just read Twitter or Facebook to get your news and your political opinions."

Many have celebrated the news of Lahren’s apparent sacking and explicitly celebrated her downfall. Her detractors argued Lahren’s views on abortion should not detract from or erase her other ultra-conservative opinions. Sharing gifs and memes on Twitter, people listed the reports with other examples of Mr Trump's failures and difficulties this week.

“I can't believe Tomi Lahren got permanently suspended from her job. Now she's one of those 'unemployed millennials' she complains about,” said Bella Vita.

“Tomi Lahren downed women who marched for women's rights and said protesters need to get jobs and now she's jobless for being pro-choice and needs a job,” chipped in another.

“Tomi Lahren will vanish for three months and reappear as 'Woke Tomi' because she's a grifter of the highest order,” quipped one.

Lahren, who is just 24 but has amassed a following of 4.2 million on Facebook, sparked immediate outrage among fellow conservative commentators and fans after standing up for abortion rights. Appearing on The View earlier this month, she said: "I can't sit here and be a hypocrite and say I'm for limited government, but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies”.

Lahren, an outspoken Trump supporter, added: "Stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well”.

Lahren clarified her position on abortion after her initial remarks, telling one critic: "Listen, I am not glorifying abortion. I don't personally advocate for it. I just don't think it's the government's place to dictate”.

The morning after her appearance, she said: "I have moderate, conservative, and libertarian views. I'm human. I will never apologise, to anyone, for being an independent thinker."

Beck hit back, directly replying to her on Twitter: “Wait, libertarian views? Help me out on Trumpcare, stimulus, and executive orders. Trump is anything but libertarian #intellectualhonesty.”

Despite the fact Lahren’s show was temporarily pulled off air for the entirety of last week, The Blaze has not given an official reason for her absence. Lahren herself has appeared to indirectly reference the furore on Twitter on a number of occasions.

“Never do the envy, jealousy and insecure stuff. Be the hustler, the well-wisher, the go-getter." #TeamTomi,” she said yesterday.

The controversial South Dakota native is known for her tirades about “so-called feminism”, liberal “crap” and “self-righteous kneelers” like Colin Kaepernick. She has also compared the Black Lives Matter movement to the Ku Klux Klan. It is these inflammatory, deliberately controversial comments she has become famed for and has rapidly built up an engaged online following and hit a chord with millennials on the right.

Lahren and Beck did not immediately respond to request for comment.
