Stormy Daniels recaps airport run-in with Michael Cohen

Stormy Daniels has said she forgives Michael Cohen for his involvement in an attempt to silence her during the 2016 election about her alleged affair with Donald Trump.

The adult film actress, who sued the president over a hush money agreement she signed before he ascended to the Oval Office, said she had a change of heart towards his longtime personal lawyer after Mr Cohen pleaded guilty in August to eight counts of campaign finance violations, tax fraud and bank fraud.

“I definitely think that I had a lot of ill will for him — towards him,” she said Monday night, speaking with CNN's Don Lemon. “In the end, you know, he kinda did the right thing. He admitted that I wasn't lying and that Trump had ordered him to do this. So in a way I guess I forgive him.”

Without directly naming the president, Mr Cohen implicated Mr Trump in the campaign finance violations he plead guilty to in August, during a widely-covered trial.

He said he had attempted to keep Ms Daniels’ story confidential “in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office” in a plea deal that includes jail time.

Meanwhile, Mr Trump has railed against his former confidant and lawyer, saying he was much more satisfied with his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who refused to implicate the president in wrongdoing during a separate August trial for bank fraud.

On Monday, Ms Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said she was no longer upset with Mr Trump’s lawyer — who she had seen just days ago in passing at a New York airport.

“It was very strange,” Ms Daniels said Monday night. "He looked happy and healthy, though. He looked like he had a weight off his shoulders."

The porn star tweeted about the interaction shortly after it occurred, writing, "Michael Cohen just said 'hi' to me in the airport."

She added, "I meant to take a flight to NY but I think I just landed on Mars."

Ms Daniels is currently on a book tour promoting Full Disclosure, which details her alleged affair with the president as well as her life and career in the adult entertainment industry.
