Video: Police on the hunt for nightclub shooter in Brooklyn
CCTV shows the moment a gunman opened fire outside a New York nightclub
The New York Police Department has released CCTV footage of the moment a gunman shot someone at close range outside a nightclub in Brooklyn last Friday.
The shooting took place outside of the Nova nightclub in Crown Heights, an area of Brooklyn, New York City's most populated borough.
Video shows the man, who is wearing a large jacket and a beanie, walking near a car outside the club. He turns to face the direction of the nightclub and pulls out his gun, firing one shot. He raises his arm again to fire another round, but decides against, putting the gun into his pocket and walking away.
Police said the man was arguing with another individual before the shot was fired. The round hit a 36-year-old man in the foot. The victim was taken to hospital but was later released.
Police believe the shooter is between 20- and 25-years-old and about 5ft11. He was wearing a blue jacket, red trousers and a black cap.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted online at the Crime Stoppers website.
