The body of a Thai millionaire businesswoman has been found entombed in concrete in her fridge.

Wannee Jiracharoenying, 58, went missing in October after going to visit her local temple.

Ms Wannee was found after neighbours complained about an unpleasant smell coming from her home in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Police discovered her body inside a freezer, with her arms and legs tied and a plastic bag placed over her head.

Authorities are now searching for Withun Sitabut, the property developer’s 39-year-old driver who is suspected of murder.

Thousands of pounds have been withdrawn from Ms Wannee’s bank accounts since she went missing.

Mr Withun had been preparing to escape Thailand as the police began their search, the Thai Examiner reported.

CCTV allegedly showed Mr Withun driving the deceased woman’s car and another picture showed him with a wad of bank notes in his hand after withdrawing money from her account.

Police also accused him of using Ms Wannee’s phone to send a text message to one of her friends saying she was travelling to Vietnam.

The pair are believed to have met at the a local temple.

Ms Wannee reportedly regularly donated to the local temple and hospital.

Her body, which was reportedly badly decomposed, has been sent for formal identification.
