North Korea has marked the 70th anniversary of the ruling Workers' Party with a military parade in the capital, Pyongyang.

The parade on Saturday in Kim Il Sung Square featured goose-stepping marching soldiers, tanks, drones and rocket launchers as leader Kim Jong-un looked on. He was joined by Liu Yunshan, the Chinese Communist Party's fifth-ranked leader.

In a speech he gave to crowds, Mr Kim said North Korea is ready to "fight any kind of war" with the US.
