Mumbai woman saved by railway commuters after sari gets caught in train doors
Passenger still receiving hospital treatment following incident
A woman had a narrow escape after commuters came to her rescue when her sari became caught in a train door in a Mumbai railway station.
CCTV footage shows the 22-year-old woman, identified only as Poonam, being pulled backwards as the edge of her sari is caught in the moving train doors.
The train then proceeds to drag her for several metres along the Kanjumarg station platform.
Surrounding commuters run to her aid as another passenger attempts to free her garment from within the vehicle.
Railway police constable Raj Kamal Yadavis is seen pulling her by the hair in a bid to free her from the train.
Eventually her dress unravels from her body, allowing the woman to be pulled away from the carriage as it speeds away.
The woman was taken to hospital following the incident and is still receiving treatment.
