Baby's hands and feet cut off

French police arrested a woman who admitted to cutting off the hands and feet of a one-year-old girl she was babysitting. The baby was rushed to hospital where she was in a critical condition. Police arrested a 21-year-old woman who admitted to mutilating the child.

The mother had returned to her flat to find her baby in a pool of blood. A bloody knife was found nearby. The baby's parents told police they had not previously known the woman. AP - Paris
